CBD

We know CBD can be confusing. You have have questions and we have answers.

CBD is short for cannabidiol.

CBD is a phytocannabinoid, or molecule, made by the hemp plant.

CBD interacts with our endocannabinoids and our endocannabinoid system (The ECS) to create systemic wellness and balance. More specifically, CBD may help with:

Regulating Stress Response

Reducing Inflammation

So how does CBD work?

Your endocannabinoid system (ECS) responds when something is out of balance in your body, for example when you experience:

Anxiety or Stress

Inflammation or Injury

Weakened Immune System

When events like these happen, the ECS jumps into action and your body creates endocannabinoids!

Super ECS

The two most well known endocannabinoids are anandamide, also known as the bliss molecule, and AG-2. These endocannabinoids activate the cannabinoid receptors CB1 + CB2.

When the receptors are activated, the ECS begins the process of stabilizing your systems imbalances by turning up some reactions, but turning down others.

It's a carefully synchronized balancing act all to get our bodies, minds and mindsets in balance.  When this is achieved, we are in homeostasis.

The problem is that our endocannabinoids are fragile.

fragile

They are not stored anywhere in the body, and they don't stay in our systems for very long.

They are broken down very quickly.

That's where CBD comes in. CBD is a natural way to keep endocannabinoids in your system longer and stop them from being broken down so quickly.

CBD is almost identical to our endocannabinoids.

But CBD doesn't fit into the CB1 + CB2 receptors like our endocannabinoids. Instead, CBD causes chemical changes by blocking cannabinoid receptors in the body and preventing any other cannabinoids or chemical messengers from binding to them.

CBD works by naturally keeping our own endocannabinoids in our system longer.

The longer anandamide and 2-AG are in our system, the more wellness benefits we achieve.
