Bold Journey Magazine

Recently, I had the honor of sitting down with Bold Journey Magazine for an exclusive interview where I opened up about my  journey - from Mixology to Mindset.

In this interview, I shared the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

From my early days in the music industry, and launching iconic clothing brands like Ed Hardy, to the defining moments that led me to create Mindset.

It's my hope that my story serves as a source of inspiration for anyone looking to make a change, take a chance, and choose a new Mindset.

So, what are you waiting for? Dive into the latest issue of Bold Journey Magazine, choose your Mindset, and let's continue this wellness journey together!

BOLD JOURNEY MAGAZINE: Jonathan, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

Jonathan Shapiro: For self-care, I prioritize a holistic approach that encompasses both mental and physical well-being. Regular exercise, mindfulness practices such as meditation, and maintaining a balanced diet are crucial elements. But the game changer for me is CBD. I integrate Mindset Wellness CBD Gummies and Patches into my routine to enhance the impact of self-care on my overall effectiveness and mindset. The natural ingredients, CBD being one element, help to alleviate my anxiety and contribute to a more balanced mood. This, in turn, positively impacts my mental clarity and focus. The incorporation of Mindset CBD has notably reduced stress levels, allowing me to approach tasks with a clearer mindset. The calming effects positively influence decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

BJM: Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

JS: About My Journey: My entrepreneurial journey has been a diverse and fascinating one. It began on the stages of CBGBs as a rapper, later transitioning to break out success with the iconic clothing brand Ed Hardy. Following that, I ventured into founding the first fashion chain, Mixology Clothing Company – the magic was the brands inside all of which I created. Each chapter of this journey has been a stepping stone, leading to the creation of Mindset Wellness.

Mindset Wellness – Choose Your Mindset:
Mindset Wellness is more than just a wellness brand; it’s a philosophy dedicated to providing individuals with the freedom to choose how they want to feel. In a world where choices are sparse, Mindset stands out by empowering people to make choices that align with their well-being.

Our Commitment to Non-Intoxicating Wellness:
We’ve successfully brought complex and stigmatized issues into the limelight, catering to a high-net-worth audience eager for non-intoxicating wellness remedies. Mindset Wellness has become a trusted name, offering products that resonate with those seeking holistic well-being without compromising on quality or effectiveness.

Exciting Launch with Isaac Boots:
One of our most thrilling launches has been the unstoppable partnership with fitness icon Isaac Boots for our Torch line of CBD energy products. This collaboration has gained immense popularity, endorsed by influential figures like Lisa Rinna and Kelly Ripa. Our products are now featured at exclusive resorts such as Surf Lodge in Montauk and the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The Catalyst:
The inception of Mindset was deeply personal. Struggling with anxiety and depression, I sought alternatives to prescriptions that left me feeling numb. The game-changer was CBD, and I felt compelled to share this wellness revelation with the world.

In essence, Mindset Wellness is a culmination of my entrepreneurial journey, a brand that champions the power of choice in well-being. It’s not just a product; it’s an invitation for individuals to take control of their feelings and choose their mindset. The journey continues, and I’m excited to see where our choices will lead us next.

BJM: Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

JS: Three Qualities That Shaped My Journey:

1. Resilience: Resilience has been the cornerstone of my journey. It’s the ability to bounce back from setbacks, learn from failures, and turn challenges into stepping stones toward success. To those starting their journey, I’d emphasize the importance of resilience. Understand that failures are not roadblocks but opportunities for growth. When energy and strength seem scarce, it’s the resilience that propels you forward.

2. Immediacy: Taking immediate action has been crucial. Waiting for the perfect moment can lead to missed opportunities. Imperfect action is often more valuable than delayed perfection. Don’t wait for perfection; it rarely comes. Start where you are, with what you have. Embrace the journey of improvement and adjustment along the way. The key is to keep building and refining as you go.

3. Purpose – The “Why”: Having a deeply personal “why” or purpose has given meaning to my entrepreneurial endeavors. It’s the driving force behind every decision and action, making the journey more fulfilling. Find your “why.” Understand the deeper purpose behind your journey. Whether it’s a personal mission or a desire to impact others, a strong sense of purpose provides clarity and motivation during challenging times.

BJM: Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

JS: I have been blessed to have incredible mentors like Ken Austin, (Founder of Teremana Tequila, Proper 12 Whiskey and Delola) and Marc Kemp (Real Estate Developer/Entrepreneur). Ken and Marc have been invaluable guides, providing wisdom, advice, and a wealth of experience. Their insights have been a compass in navigating the complexities of this stage of my entrepreneurship. My advice is listen and learn – most everything has been done by someone in some form at some point.
